The “virtual pinboard” site Pinterest is the place where I collect and share useful music technology in education links and I regularly highlight my Pinterest boards here on my blog. Today I’m putting my collection of remixing and sampling links under the spotlight.
If you’d like to see all of the links, you’ll need to sign up for a Pinterest account. It’s free and I can highly recommend it!
Four of my favourite pins
1. Sampling/remix example #1: Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That
There’s been a trend in the past few years of transforming spoken word into songs: use autotune to give the narrative a melody, add some chords and a rhythmic backing and you have yourself a remix. One of the most famous examples is this one:
Sweet Brown: Original Report and Autotune Remix
2. Sampling/remix example #2: Pogo – Wishery
I’ve loved the work of Australian DJ/music producer Pogo for a long time now and he is a master at taking sound samples from movies and TV shows to createa brand new musical work. Here is one of his most popular ones: Wishery, based on sounds from the Snow White movie:

3. 30+ Sites The Serve Up Great Loops and Samples
This round-up post from Audio Tuts+lists some great resources for loops and samples:

3. CC Mixter Creative Commons Licensed Music
A collection of Creative Commons licensed music that can be used for remixing and sampling projects.
